On the evening of May 4th, Putai announced that it will build an integrated production and research base for 100000 tons of lithium-ion negative electrode materials in the port city of Sundsvall in central northern Sweden. The total investment will not exceed 15.7 billion Swedish kronor (approximately RMB 10.59 billion), and it is expected to have a production capacity of 50000 tons of negative electrode materials by 2025 and 100000 tons of negative electrode materials by the end of 2026 or early 2027.

Negative electrode material is one of the four major components of power batteries, which plays a role in storing and releasing energy in the battery. In 2022, the shipment volume of Pu Tai Lai negative electrode materials was nearly 140000 tons, accounting for nearly 10% of the national production that year. During the same period, 16% of Putai's revenue came from overseas regions, with a gross profit margin of 22.7%, which is 15 percentage points lower than the domestic gross profit margin. In the first quarter of this year, the company achieved a revenue of 3.7 billion yuan, an increase of 18.2% year-on-year; The net profit attributable to the parent company was 700 million yuan, an increase of 10.3% year-on-year.
